It Sucks To Be You.
Mike Oppenheim

"It Sucks To Be You." began in March of 2006 as an experiment in self discipline and the art of the opinion-editorial column genre. It has since, however, become a main source for extolling and belittling the many passions and nuances of my life. For me, writing this column is a self-therapeutic process involving the timeless practice of attempting to articulate in words the images and impressions of the world as I see it.

Originally, "It Sucks To Be You." was only released via email, every Sunday, for a year straight. After a full year of consistency, I have remained diligent in my efforts to release the column each week, and as an added bonus, the column is now available here on my website.

What was once a rambling discourse between me and twenty close friends has now become a subscription based column that is read by more than 1000 readers, most of whom I have never met.

The title is meant to be self reflexive, and to parody the often dejected and lamenting attitude that seems to mark my own generation, for we are known by our elders as the types of folk who often gripe about our world, doing nothing, all the while, thinking to ourselves about how much "It Sucks To Be You."
